JoAnne M. Rubio
I am a native El Pasoan and a graduate of Irvin High School. After graduation, I immediately began working towards my degree in education. I graduated from UTEP in 2009 where I earned my bachelors degree in Primary Bilingual Education (EC-4). This is my seventh year teaching overall. Before coming to Lamar Elementary School, I was a 1st grade teacher at St. Pius Catholic School. I was at St. Pius for three years and thoroughly enjoyed my experiences there. My first teaching position was at Loretto Academy as a Kindergarten teacher. Teaching has always been and remains to be my passion, molding young minds and being a positive influence in a child’s life remains my driving force. I make every effort to afford each student the opportunity to reach their potential laying a foundation for a life full of learning. I am a firm believer that families need to be involved for students to truly succeed, thus is why I strive to include the family unit in all projects, homework, and other learning activities as well as encourage all to get involved within/outside of the classroom. I am here for you and your child, so if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me and I will do my best to get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you and let’s have a great year together!
